iPhone TIPS: iOS 6 - Siri will do Local Search Around the World, Finally!

-by iPhone-Tips-Tricks.com -  Q:When you use Siri outside the US to find a restaurant, you will only get results located in the USA. Is that solved in iOS 6? A: Actually, Steve Forstall today announced that local search queries with Siri, will provide world wide results. At this moment, when you are in for example in Barcelona Spain, and ask Siri for something to eat, Siri will send you to restaurants in New York City. Annoying and not cool. According to Apple, in iOS 6, Siri will provide you real local search results wherever you are in the world. Q That is great, but I only speak mandarin chinese or Italian, can I speak mandarin or Italian to Siri now? A: Yes you can! In iOS 6, Italian, Korean and Cantonese are supported ! And it talks back in your lingo!!! cool.

iPhone TIPS: iOS 6 - What is the Eyes Free Button feature

-by iPhone-Tips-Tricks.com - Q: Today WWDC keynote Apple has announced the Eyes Free feature in iOS 6. What is Eyes Free ? A: Eyes Free is a hardware button in your car. When you push it, Siri on your iPhone 4S will be triggered. Q: What is the advantage of this button? A: Car manufacturers can integrate the button on the steering wheel so you use it without using your eyes. That is safer to use Siri while driving car. Q: Which car brands have committed to built in Eyes Free? A: See the car logo picture below, they have committed to built-in Eyes Free within 12 months (according to Steve Forstall).

iPhone TIPS: WWDC 2012 Game Changing News?

Will game changer Apple change another business or industry.

-by iPhone-Tips-Tricks.com - Few hours to go for the annual WWDC keynote. Traditionally the place to unveil new Apple products. Some products are as expected, but sometimes there is a surprise. So what could be the surprise if there is one to give away? What we do expect is iOS6, Siri enhanced, new Macs, Mountain Lion. And maybe an Apple TV SDK to create great apps for Apple TV owners? How about new partnerships or game changing news? My wish for example is that Apple utilizes their cash (they have a lot of them) to reinvent a business like they did with the music industry (iTunes, iPod) and mobile phone industry (iPhone, iPad). Do I have suggestions? Yes, how about buy some big mobile network operators, stick a Apple logo on it and importantly: make them provide 3G/4G internet service for a fixed price a month without the unreasonable hidden costs. Let say you buy an iPhone 4S for the full price and have great 3G/4G network access without up and down limits for $10 a month? why not, everyone would go for that right. I really hope Apple will do that one day, and maybe not today but soon, change another industry to make things better and better worth the money. We wait and see not today then tomorrow.

iPhone TIPS: Santa 2011 brings iPad 3 LTE Retina ?

Q: What is going on? A: The rumor that Apple is shipping the iPad 3 this year 2011 is back! Q: What are the predictions this time? A: In February this year we noticed Daring Fireball's 6 months forward predictions. And those predictions still can come out correctly:
"...So, here’s my guess at Apple’s iPad plans for 2011:
An iPad 2, fairly soon. Say, a March announcement, shipping in the first week of April. Faster, more RAM, maybe more storage, thinner and lighter, a front-facing camera.1 Running iOS 4.3.
iOS 5, announced at a developer event in March, shipping in June.
iPad 3, shipping in September, announced at the annual iPod event. Running iOS 5.1, same as the next-generation iPod Touch.
"
Today, the wall street journal blog [link] quotes the suggestion from a Hong Kong based source named CLSA, which suggests an iPad 3 release before Christmas 2011.
wsj quotes:
“While most vendors appear fixated on matching the specs and features of iPad2, our checks suggest Apple will release iPad3 in time for the holiday season, sporting a better display and LTE capabilities.”

A lot of people who are following Apple for years are in doubt of course. Traditionally there is 1 iPhone, 1 iPad and 1 iPod announcement a year. "Once a Year".  A logical update pattern is: in March an iPad, in June an iPhone and in September an iPod. And another iPad 3 this year will break this pattern. However, we all know that the competition (Android) is getting stronger. To make the competition harder to keep up with Apple, this could be a nice 'rumored'  move. The mentioned LTE capabilities is a about a faster radio for faster internet speeds, and we know there are providers investing in this new Long Term Evolution, but this technology is not in place in common yet. Because there are huge capacity problems with the current GSM 3G UMTS HSDPA radio net, caused by the explosive grow of "App-phones", it is expected that all big providers must invest in an upgrade to a faster LTE network. Otherwise, there is simply 'no service'
Also, I know as iPhone 4 owner, that an iPad 1 or iPad 2 without a Retina high resolution display is like watching an old-school VGA tube with low resolution pictures. A great iPad screen will push the sales and convince iPad 1 owners to upgrade and pull anyone in doubt over the line for the iPad '3'.  Lets see the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 [SOLD OUT] first, which starts from June 6-10 at San Francisco, Moscone.
