iPhone TIPS: How To Check if your Apple UDID is Compromised Without iTunes?

- by iPhone-tips-tricks.com - Q: What is the problem? A: Trending topic in worlds security blogs is the story about a 12 million Apple UDID that is rumoured to be stolen from the FBI. Currently 1 million UDIDs are shared online. Q: What is a UDID ? A: Apple Unique Device Identifiers (UDID) is a sequence of 40 characters specific to an Apple device. It does not  contain much information by themselves, but when coupled with other information such as iTunes passwords, billing addresses and payment data, it could pose some risks for users. Q: Okay, how can I check if my iPhone or iPad UDID is compromised.  A: Simple, download an App that can display your UDID. FOr example the app named UDID Tool. Then goto lastpass.com site and enter the first 5 characters. Hit the check button and see if you see your personal information shows up. NOTE: However, if your device’s UDID doesn’t pop up, it could still be among the other millions compromised and not posted online. Q: What to do if I am one of the million on the list? A: Well, that is hard to say, but according to quotes from an Mashable interview with an expert:
“If your UDID has been leaked in this hack, there’s not much you can do unless you want to spring for a new phone,” Storms told Mashable. “It’s pretty likely that your UDID is already in the public domain.” and “you should strongly consider signing up for a credit monitoring service.”

IPhone TIPS: New iPhone Available 5th October 2012

Invite number 12 and number 5 but what is the meaning of these numbers? especially the "5" iPhone-Tips-Tricks.com

- by iPhone-tips-tricks.com - Q: What is the news? A: Well, many fellow bloggers yelling Apple's next version of its smartphone will be called the iPhone 5.
On Tuesday, the lip tight company sent e-mails to members of the media, inviting them to an "invitation-only event" in San Francisco on Wednesday, September 12.
The event is widely expected to be the launch of the next iPhone. The tagline says only, "It's almost here."
This time the invite shows the number 12 and projects a shadow that shows a number.... "5," And that reinforcing speculation that the new device will be called iPhone 5 instead of something else.
However, based on the last release, the New iPad, Apple is not likely to add numbers behind their creation. Listen to me, the iMac is called iMac, the Macbooks are called Macbooks, the iPod touch are called iPod touch, the iPad is called simply....iPad. Sooooo what do you think the new iPhone will be called? Correct, it is called the New iPhone, without a number "5" or whatever ever suffix. Do you get it now?
Ladies and gentlemen, the number "5" in the invite indicates a date, like the "12" does for the day of the meeting. My best guess is that "5" stands for friday October 5 as the first shipping date of the new iPhone. Or it is the date of the next Apple event for the 7 inch dubbed iPad mini. What do you think?
Lets wait till next week's Apple event that begin at 10 a.m. PT.
